這首If I Never Knew You，以前聽Pocahontas原聲帶必跳過；老實說我不是很喜歡這樣的歌，Somehow,原唱Jon Secada (強西卡達)的聲音讓我很不舒服，一直覺得他是假的John Smith。 

好啦，先撇開這些。一說到Pocahontas風中奇緣這部動畫，大家一定都是想到Colors of the wind (風之彩)這首紅到抓不住的主題曲，傳唱度很高，翻唱的人也不少，更是原主唱Vanessa Williams (凡妮莎威廉絲)的成名曲，[之後她有沒有很紅，留給大家去討論…]，焦點都放中在Colors of the wind上，很少人會去注意到這首If I Never Knew You，就是電影最後上工作人員名單時才出現的end title歌曲，相較於小品歌曲Colors of the wind，這首歌試圖想走磅礡的情歌對唱路線，光看Shanice (仙妮絲)不顧一切奮力飆高音就知道有多驚人，後面的互尬對唱說真的還不差。但實在不是我習慣聽的歌，會再去注意到這首歌，是因為迪士尼公司重新發行了Pocahontas DVD，這個十週年紀念版DVD把原本搭上If I Never Knew You場景重新加了回來，使得整部片完整了很多，可惜台灣沒發行...電影裡找了原配唱班底Mel Gibson (梅爾吉勃遜)和Judy Kuhn (茱蒂寇兒)演唱此曲，我比較喜歡電影裡的版本，男女主角淡淡的唱，和Jon &Shanice流行版的互尬唱法有天壤之別，電影版本唱起來含蓄許多，但卻很有感覺和畫面；Jon &Shanice的版本唱的很流行，很powerful。下面有中英對照歌詞，我也找到了If I Never Knew You的電影片段，和流行版mv，比較看看吧。
